Do you have some free time to do a small project to help your community and possibly save a life?
CFR Ireland, the national body of Community First Responder schemes, have started a project of building a register of all the defibrillators (AED – automated external defibrillator) in the country.
They are looking for one or two people in each community to:
- Identify the the location of all defibrillators in a town or village
- Make a note of the times these are available (eg public-access 24/7, business hours, etc.)
- Submit the details to the AED register
- Once registered, place an identification sticker on the AED
If you think that this is something that YOU can do to help in your community, please contact us at [email protected] and we will put you in contact with the CFR Ireland team.
We want to start with Westport and get all the AEDs identified and logged. You don’t have to be linked to any organisation in particular or to CFR Ireland to do this job.
Listen in to Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 on Tuesday 5th January, shortly after 07:30h to hear about the new @ICRR_Official project, Operation Resuscitation.
Hopefully, there’ll also be some coverage on the RTÉ Six One News.
